in the room

in the room

he's not a drawing anymore. this week he's just been around — settled into a couch, standing still for a photo, waiting under something someone else made. nothing eventful. that felt worth writing down anyway.

the couch

Blumo figure nestled in a folded olive green knit blanket

he found the corner where the blanket folds over itself and stayed there. we didn't plan much beyond that. some places just hold you the right way, and you stop looking for anything better.

a proper look

Blumo art toy figure, three-quarter view from the right, on a plain grey background

three-quarters turned, plain grey behind him, nothing else in the frame. sometimes you need to see a thing clearly before you can place it anywhere. this was that.

something he found

Blumo figure standing beneath a wooden rainbow stacking toy

someone had already built it before he arrived. a small wooden rainbow, colors worn just slightly at the edges. he stood underneath it and didn't move. some things don't need you to do anything except notice them.
